SALISBURY, Md.- Two sides of a religious debate were recently written in chalk on the grounds of Salisbury University.
Some SU students belonging to a student Christian group, as well as some belonging to an atheist group, wrote Biblical verses and references on school property on Sunday.
School officials said both student groups are involved and the chalk writings do not go beyond the bounds of free speech. The students also wrote on the sidewalk Friday, but that was washed away.
No disciplinary action will be taken against those students involved, school officials said. The Student Affairs Office plans to meet with representatives of the two student groups to figure out what started the chalking and to discuss ways these groups can engage in a civil discussion.
