CAMBRIDGE, Md. --Maryland State Police were called Saturday to investigate a plane disappearing from radar in Dorchester County.
Troopers found the plane in a field on Dalesville Road at School House Lane just south of Cambridge. Police found the pilot, Lewis Lester, 56, of Chesapeake, Va., unharmed.
Lester told police his 1977 Cessna lost all electronics and power mid-flight, causing the engine to stall out. Lester tried several times, but was unable to restart the engine.
A Federal Aviation Administration investigator determined the problem with the plane was mechanical and not caused by pilot error.
Police say the plane should be fully operational after minor repairs are made.
