QUANTICO, Md.- Authorities are investigating an early Thursday morning fire that left a Wicomico County home in ruins.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the two-alarm blaze occurred at around 4:27 a.m. at a two-story home located at 25330 Fairway Drive in Quantico.

It took 40 firefighters from the Hebron, Westside, Mardela, Sharptown, Salisbury 16, Fruitland and Delmar fire companies approximately one hour to get to the fire under control.

There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damage to the structure, and another $75,000 in damage to its contents.

A smoke alarm was present and activated at the time of the fire, investigators said.

Deputy state fire marshals determined the fire started in an attached garage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
