BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - A three month investigation into illegal drug distribution at several residences has led to multiple arrests.
Bridgeville police say they worked with the Milford Police Department,
investigating the illegal distribution at 18 Laverty Ln and apartments
45 and 50 on Moyer Lane. They say a total of 40 police officers from
seven agencies converged on the locations Friday night, executing
simultaneous, high risk warrants by the Special Operations Response Teams of the Milford, Smyrna and Laurel Police Departments.
Alishia Fream, 31, of 18 Laverty
Ln. was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released with a
criminal summons.
Akisha Scott, 25, also of 18 Laverty Ln. was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released with a criminal summons.
Michael
Drummond, 25,
of 45 Moyer Ln. has not been charged at this time, but police say drug money was
seized from his residence.
Letichia
Williams, 27,
of 50 Moyer Ln. was charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance with one aggravating factor, endangering the welfare of a child, conspiracy second, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Williams was released without bond.
Ellsworth
Butler aka Charles Butler, 37, also of 50 Moyer Ln. was
charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance
with one aggravating factor, delivery of a controlled dangerous substance, endangering the welfare of a child, conspiracy second and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Butler was transported to the Sussex
Correctional Institution and held on $3,500 secured bail.
According to the Bridgeville Police Department, initial tips came from the public, with residents of Laverty Lane taking a stand against the criminal activity and drug dealing going on in their community.
Members
of the Bridgeville Police Department, Greenwood Police Department, Georgetown
Police Department and Harrington Police Department participated in the
operation and subsequent searches.
Police say they seized an undisclosed amount of marijuana
and crack cocaine along with numerous drug paraphernalia items and a large
amount of United States currency, which is believed to have been used as drug
money.
