Ethics Panel Wants to Put Disclosure Forms Online

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - An ethics panel will be developing a proposal for putting financial disclosure forms for Maryland lawmakers on the Internet.

The panel of state senators met Friday. They plan to prepare recommendations for tightening ethics rules by March.

Currently, someone who wants to see a lawmaker's financial disclosure form must come to Annapolis to view them in person.

Maryland lawmakers have not had substantial review of ethics policies for more than a decade. The panel also is planning to consider establishing financial penalties for ethical lapses.
