HARRINGTON, Del. (WBOC)- A Harrington woman is behind bars on assault and related charges following accusations that she repeatedly stabbed another woman.
Harrington police said that on Sunday, Jan. 29, officers responded to a reported stabbing that occurred at a home on the 100 block of Coleman Street. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a woman bleeding profusely. According to investigators, the victim had been stabbed multiple times with a knife in the hand, bicep and face. The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
A suspect in the stabbing, 50-year-old Mary C. Brown, was taken into custody at the home where the crime occurred. Police charged Brown with second-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. She is being held in the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $20,000 secured bond.
Officers have not yet released a motive for the stabbing.
