Aisha joined the WBOC team in January of 2012 as the station's weekend anchor/video journalist. Prior to joining WBOC, Aisha served as a multi-media journalist and fill-in anchor in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Her most memorable stories in Myrtle Beach were the 2009 wildfires that destroyed more than 20,000 acres of land and the case of missing 16-year-old New York teen, Brittanee Drexel who disappeared while on vacation at the beach.
Aisha was born in Virginia but spent five years living in Pakistan as a child. She and her family made the move back to the United States where she graduated from the American University in Washington, D.C., with a degree in psychology. She began her career as an on-air producer for a radio talk show on 630 WMAL in Bethesda, Md.
Aisha is thrilled to be back in her home state where she gets to once again live close to the beach. She loves to explore different activities such as social and sporting events in addition to working out, boogie boarding and trying new foods as long as it's spicy!
Aisha is always looking for great story ideas, so if you have one, send her an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
