



RICHMOND, Va. – University of Delaware junior forward Jamelle
Hagins was selected the Colonial Athletic Association Men's
Basketball Player of the Week while freshman guard Kyle Anderson
earned league Co-Rookie of the Week honors after the two led the
Blue Hens to a pair of league victories last week.
Hagins averaged 18.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks during
UD's two wins, shooting a combined 12 of 21 from the field for a
57.1 percentage. He tallied 13 points, a game-high nine rebounds
and three blocks during Wednesday's 65-60 victory over
league-leading George Mason, and hit two free throws with three
seconds left to seal the win.
Hagins then posted a monster game during the 85-80 triumph at
James Madison on Saturday, scoring a career-high 23 points while
falling one short of his career best with 18 boards. He went 7
of 12 from the field and connected on nine free throws while
blocking four shots during the victory, which improved the Blue
Hens to 11-12 overall and 7-6 in the CAA.
Anderson also had a big week for the Blue Hens, averaging 17.0
points and 3.5 rebounds during the pair of victories. He scored
a career-high 21 points in the triumph over the Patriots, going
8 of 11 from the field including 5 of 7 from behind the arc.
Anderson then contributed 13 points during Saturday's win over
the Dukes, finishing 3 of 4 from three-point range and
connecting on all four of his free throw attempts.
Hagins, who was also named the CAA Player of the Week on Dec.
12, currently ranks ninth in the country with 10.9 rebounds per
game, 14th with 2.9 blocks, and 15th with 12 double-doubles. He
leads the conference with 8.2 defensive boards per game, and is
second in both rebounds and blocks.
Anderson, who earned league Rookie of the Week honors for the
second time, currently ranks third in the CAA with 3.4
three-pointers made per game and eighth with a 35.9 three-point
field goal percentage. Additionally, Hagins is second on the
Blue Hens with 13.2 points per game while Anderson ranks third
with 9.9 points per outing.
Delaware will look for its third consecutive win on Wednesday
when the Blue Hens host UNCW at 7 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter
Center.
