DOVER, Del.– Dover police are looking for a suspect who robbed jewelry from the Kmart on DuPont Highway on Monday night.
Authorities said that at around 8 p.m., a male suspect walked to the jewelry counter where he handed the cashier a pillowcase and demanded jewelry. The suspect opened his jacket and revealed a handgun in his waistband. The suspect then ran out of the store with the merchandise and headed in an unknown direction. Capt. Tim Stump of the Dover Police Department said the suspect stole about $2,000 worth of jewelry. Stump said typically with large quantities of merchandise being stolen, thieves look to sell it fast.
The suspect was described as a white male standing about 5-foot-11 and around 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, gray sweat pants and white sneakers.
