ANNNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Maryland Sen. President Thomas V. Mike Miller says he expects an ethics panel to make recommendations regarding a former senator's failure to disclose work he did for a grocery store chain no later than next week.
Miller said Wednesday that he has not discussed the review of Democratic Sen. Ulysses Currie with members of the Joint Committee on Legislative Ethics, but he believes they are prepared to issue recommendations.
The committee has met privately for several weeks. If it decides to recommend sanctions, they will become public once they are forwarded to the Senate for a vote.
Currie, the former chairman of the Budget and Taxation Committee, was acquitted in a federal bribery case last year relating to work he did for Shoppers Food Warehouse.
