GREENSBORO, Md.- Early Thursday morning, Greensboro police arrested a man who allegedly broke into the post office and a pharmacy.
'Break-ins have become an all to frequent occurrence in the town over the last month, residents and police on high alert.
"Something needs to be done," said Barbara Pollard of Greensboro. "It needs to be stopped. We're terrified."
Since Jan. 18, Greensboro police have reported 11 different break-ins. Town Manager Jeannette Delude said the problem is being addressed.
"We've put out extra patrols and the police department has done a little extra work that they don't normally do to try and make sure our citizens are safe," Delude said.
Police said that after breaking into the Greensboro Post Office on Sunset Avenue, the suspect then used a crowbar to force his way inside the side door of the Greensboro Pharmacy. Once he entered the pharmacy, alarms went off and the man ran out until he was eventually caught a short time later.
Long-time Greensboro residents do not want to see the town head in a dangerous direction.
"It's not normal," said Marie Wolters of Greensboro. "I mean Greensboro is a quiet kind of town."Others say the town is still safe.
"I still think Greensboro is a nice town," said Robert Hanley, also of Greensboro. "It's safe and it's a nice quiet town".
Police said officers found the suspect with prescription medication, along with mail that was not his. At this time, police are unsure if the previous break-in crimes are related to Thursday morning's incident.
