



Dover, Del. (Feb. 9, 2012) --- Four top 20 women's collegiate bowling
teams, including Delaware State University, will compete in Dover this
weekend. The annual Capital Classic Bowling Tournament, hosted by DSU,
will be held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Feb.10-12) at Brunswick Doverama in the Rodney Village Shopping Center.
The
top ranked team in this weekend's tournament field is New Jersey City
University, which is 10th in the latest in the National Tenpin Coaches
Association poll. Delaware State is next at No. 13 in the most recent
rankings. The Hornets are 44-28 this season; 20-12 in regular team games
and 24-16 in Baker matches.
Norfolk State, which is tied
for 14th , and No. 20 St. Francis College (N.Y.), will also compete in
this weekend's Capital Classic. In all, 11 teams are scheduled to
participate in the tournament.
The tournament will consist of regular team play and Baker competition. The playoff and championship rounds are set for Sunday. The competition begins at 12:45 p.m. on Friday and 9:30 on Saturday and Sunday.
