ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP)- Two House committees are set to hear arguments on a pair of dueling marriage-related bills.
The Judiciary and Health and Government Operations Committees will consider testimony on the bills Friday afternoon.
One bill would legalize gay marriage while the other would create a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between a man and a woman.
Last year the state Senate approved legislation to allow same-sex marriage, but the bill stalled in the House when some lawmakers retracted their support over religious and family values concerns.
