SALISBURY, Md.- Salisbury police are investigating two purse snatchings that occurred in less than a week's time.
The first purse snatching occurred at around 7:15 p.m., Feb. 4, outside the Wawa convenience store at 668 South Salisbury Boulevard. Police said in this incident, a male suspect grabbed a woman's purse and attempted to flee. The suspect yelled, "Let go of the purse!" The strap then broke on the purse and the suspect ran behind the Goodwill store. The suspect in this case is described as black, 20-25 years of age, approximately 5-foot-8 and weighing 160 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing and a dark colored head cover.
Police said the second incident occurred shortly before noon on Feb. 9 at 560 Riverside Drive. The victim stated that she opened her vehicle door to retrieve some items, but dropped some things on the ground. As she bent down to pick them up, she was pushed from behind. The victim fell, struck her head and became disoriented. At that time she felt someone pulling on her purse. The suspect snatched the woman's purse and ran toward Williams Landing Apartments where she lost sight of him.
This suspect is described in the second robbery is described as a black male, wearing black colored pants and a blue hat with white lettering. He is approximately 6-foot-tall with an unknown weight.
