








Salisbury, Md. –
The Delmarva Shorebirds, class "A" affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles,
are excited to announce the launch of a brand new campaign leading up to
the home opener on April 12
designed to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. The Shorebirds
will donate one dollar per new Facebook ‘Like' from now through April 11 to Big Brothers Big Sisters.
The
goal of the initiative is to donate a maximum of $1,400 to Big Brothers
Big Sisters by growing the Shorebirds Facebook fan page to over 10,000
likes.
"Social
media is a great avenue to support a great organization like Big
Brothers Big Sisters," said Shorebirds general manager Chris Bitters.
"I want to encourage everyone to search for ‘Delmarva Shorebirds' on
Facebook and help us reach our goal of donating up to $1,400!"
To
‘like' the Shorebirds on Facebook, search for our Facebook fan page,
Delmarva Shorebirds, and click the ‘like' button at the top of the
page. The Delmarva Shorebirds Facebook page is a great way to stay
up-to-date on the latest information regarding the team, upcoming
promotions, scheduling information and more.
For
over 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has helped children realize
their potential and build their futures through the mentorship program.
Big Brothers Big Sisters carefully pairs children ("Littles") with
screened volunteer mentors ("Bigs") and monitors and supports them in
one-to-one mentoring matches throughout their course. For more

Shorebirds Facebook page currently stands at 8,617 ‘likes'. For each
additional ‘like', the team will donate $1 to Big Brothers Big Sisters
with a maximum donation of $1,400 .
