Dover Task Force Wants to Increase Safety

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del.- Officials from CenDel and The Downtown Dover Partnership have teamed up with other leaders to create a task force downtown.

The goals of the task force are simple: increase safety and promote downtown for housing and businesses.

"We think the primary force that needs to be eliminated is the perceptions there's any safety issues downtown so that is our job with the task force," said Gregory Moore, president of the Downtown Dover Partnership and one of the creators of the task force.

A key part to the task force is using public input to identify what needs attention and what areas need the most help.

The task force will cover a lot of ground; north to south, Wesley College to BayHealth Kent General Hospital, and east to west from the train tracks to the St. Jones River in Kent County.
