CRISFIELD, Md.- Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for two others accused of crashing a Crisfield birthday party and robbing those in attendance.
Crisfield police said that shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday, an uninvited guest crashed a birthday party at 136 Somers Cove Apartments and was asked to leave. Investigators said that about an hour later, three individuals infiltrated the party and forced the attendees to empty their pockets. The suspects were armed and fired a round and beat one of the guests with a pistol, police said.
Officers said the suspects fled the scene in a silver Nissan Altima that had been parked at 274 Somers Cove Apartments. The car was a rental vehicle from Enterprise Rental Vehicles and has been taken to a facility to be processed as evidence.
The Crisfield Police Department issued an "All Points lookout" to Maryland State Police, the Somerset County Sheriff's Office and the Princess Anne Police Department. Approximately 90 minutes after the alleged incident, Princess Anne police spotted the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Dryden Road.
According to police, the three suspects jumped out of the vehicle, which led to a foot chase around Branningham Road.
Authorities said one of the suspects, 20-year-old Meko Gianni Palmiro of Salisbury, was taken into custody by Princess Anne police. He was charged with armed robbery, handgun possession, handgun on person, reckless endangerment, first- and second-degree assault, first-, third, and fourth-degree burglary and theft.
Police are continuing to look for the other two suspects.
One of the suspects was described as a 5-foot-6 light-skinned black male with a wide build. The suspect was wearing dark clothing and a dark mask to conceal his identity. He may go by the name "Chuck."
The second suspect was described as a tall light-skinned black male wearing all dark clothing and a mask similar to the other suspect.
