Millsboro Man Arrested in Copper Wire Theft

MILLSBORO, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for another accused of stealing copper wire from a Delmarva Power storage yard in Millsboro.

Troopers said that at approximately 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, two suspects were located over the fence line of the storage yard. One of the suspects fled the scene while 32-year-old Christopher L. Kemp of Millsboro was taken into custody, police said.

Officers said Kemp's vehicle was found in the storage yard with a pair of bolt cutters that was taken the night before, along with more than $1,500 worth of copper wire.

Kemp was charged with theft greater than $1,500, attempted theft greater than $1,500, possession of burglar tools, second-degree conspiracy, criminal mischief and two counts of second-degree criminal trespassing.

Kemp was released on $2,050 secured bond.

The only description of the other suspect who fled the scene was that he was a white male.
