SALISBURY, Md.- A Wicomico County Circuit Court judge sentenced a Salisbury man to 24 years in prison for two home invasions that occurred last summer in Salisbury and Pittsville.

During a court appearance on Monday, 26-year-old Clifton Brimer pleaded guilty to robbery, burglary and theft. Following his plea, Brimer was sentenced to 15 years in the Department of Corrections for robbery, eight years for burglary and one year for theft, for a combined total of 24 years.

The home invasions occurred on July 23 and July 24 of last year. The Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office said that in one of the home invasions, Brimer forced his way into the home of an elderly couple and assaulted the 80-year-old male resident.

According to prosecutors, the investigation into the home invasion led the Wicomico County Bureau of Investigation to a second location in Salisbury where Brimer had committed another burglary and theft.

Prosecutors said that during the investigation, detectives learned of a third burglary that Brimer allegedly committed in Pittsville.
