DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police say a 2-month investigation culminated with the arrests of two people accused of selling the banned synthetic drug known as "bath salts" from a north Dover convenience store.
Troopers said that on Tuesday, Feb. 14, the Kent County Drug Unit executed a search warrant on the U.S. Gas and Lucky 7 Deli Mart on North DuPont Highway.
Police said that during raid, detectives located 24 single packets of "Cloud 9," which is a synthetic cannabinoid. More than $2,800 in suspected drug proceeds were also seized, according to investigators.
Troopers arrested 51-year-old Alkaben Patel of Newark and charged him with two counts of drug dealing and one count of second-degree conspiracy. He was released on $22,000 unsecured bond.
A second suspect, 61-year-old Mu Kesh K. Patel, also of Newark, was charged with drug dealing and second-degree conspiracy. He was released on $12,000 unsecured bond.
