NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Representatives of Delaware's higher education system are joining in the state's effort to train people how to detect and report signs of child abuse.
The state attorney general's office and a coalition of child protection advocates last year launched a 5-year effort to train 35,000 adults to recognize and respond to the signs of child sexual abuse.
Attorney General Beau Biden planned to join the presidents of the University of Delaware, Delaware State University and Delaware Technical and Community College on UD's Newark campus Thursday to announce what officials are describing as a significant expansion of the initiative.
