WOODSIDE, Del.- Delaware State Police have identified a woman who died in an early Monday morning crash in Woodside.

The victim has been identified as Judith D. Candalino, 57, of Harrington.

Police said the accident happened at approximately 1 a.m., as Candalino was operating a Pontiac Sunbird and either traveling very slowly or stopped in the right lane of southbound U.S. Route 13 just south of Walnut Shade Road. Troopers said that is when 33-year-old Marlena Korona of Felton rear-ended the Sunbird with a Chevrolet Tahoe. The Sunbird was forced more than 130 feet south after the impact and came to a stop in the roadway, according to investigators. Police said Tahoe continued southbound before overturning on the driver's side into a ditch.

Police said Candalino, who was not properly restrained, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash

Both Korona and her 5-year-old passenger- who police said were properly restrained- were removed from the scene by EMS and transported to Kent General Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
