SNOW HILL, Md.- Maryland State Police say five Somerset County businesses were cited for selling alcohol to minors during recent compliance checks.
Police said the compliance checks were conducted Friday, Feb. 17. Working with plain clothes officers, underage youths entered 25 county businesses and attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages.
Twenty-one businesses refused to sell to the underage buyers and passed the compliance checks, according to police.
Police said the following five businesses failed the compliance checks and sold alcohol to the underage buyers:
- Arby's General Store in Chance
- Somerset County Liquor Dispensary in Princess Anne
- Caesar's Pizza Palace in Princess Anne
- Cheer's (Cienna Properties LLC) in Princess Anne
- Princess Anne Community Store in Princess Anne.
These cases have been referred to the Somerset County Liquor License Commissioner's and the Somerset County State's Attorneys Office for appropriate action.
