EASTON, Md.- Maryland State Police say a 79-year-old Preston woman was killed after being struck by a car Monday evening in Caroline County.
Police said at that at around 6:28 p.m., Dorothy Ireland Christopher was crossing Route 331 from Chance's Store to Frazier Neck Road when a 2006 Pontiac G6, driven by 19-year-old Kristina Marie Jones, also of Preston, hit her.
Troopers said Jones was traveling east on Route 331 when she struck Christopher with her vehicle. Christopher was pronounced dead at Easton Memorial Hospital.
The Preston Volunteer Fire Department and State Highway Administration assisted police. No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
