RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A man shot in a parking lot at a veterans hospital in Richmond has died.
Federal court documents identify the victim as James Stephenson Lee.
Authorities say the victim was shot in the head and left eye shortly after 7 a.m. Wednesday in a parking lot at the McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Media outlets report that Lee later died at VCU Medical Center.
Federal prosecutors charged the suspect, 55-year-old Cornelius Hayes of Blackstone, with possession of a firearm by a felon. Hayes is scheduled to appear in federal court in Richmond on Friday.
The FBI is in charge of investigating the shooting.
