POWHATAN, Va. (AP) - Police are investigating a five-vehicle wreck that killed three people on U.S. 60 in Powhatan County.
Virginia State Police say the accident occurred at 5:13 a.m. Monday about a mile west of Bell Road.
A logging truck overturned and caught fire after it was hit by a dump truck that crossed the center line. The accident also involved three other commercial vehicles.
The dump truck's driver, the logging truck's driver and a passenger died at the scene. Their names haven't been released.
One of the other drivers was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. The other two drivers suffered minor injuries.
U.S. 60 is expected to remain closed throughout Monday. A detour has been set up by the Virginia Department of Transportation.
