SALISBURY, Md. – On Tuesday, the Salisbury University baseball team climbed to No. 3 in both the American Baseball Coaches Association Division III Poll and the D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 Poll.
The Sea Gulls (23-6, 12-3 CAC) went 3-1 with wins over Catholic University of America and York (Pa.) College last week.
SU earned 220 points in the ABCA poll. Marietta College is the nation's new top seed with 238 points. The Captains of Christopher Newport are No.2 in the poll with 232 points. Marietta garnered seven first-place votes and Christopher Newport picked up the other vote.
In the D3baseball.com poll, Salisbury earned 519 points behind the same two schools. Marietta earned 610 points and 18 first-place votes. CNU earned 596 points and four first-place votes.
The Sea Gulls are back on the diamond Friday as they host Stevenson University in the first game of a three-game Capital Athletic Conference series. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m. at the SU Baseball Field.
