HERSHEY, Pa. – Freshman Cody Pestun finished second out of 78 golfers to lead Wesley College to a seventh place tie out of 14 schools at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament at the Hershey Country Club East Course.
Pestun followed his first-round 73 with a second round score of 79 falling one stroke behind the individual champion, Cameron Warner of Franklin & Marshall. Warner shot a first-round 78 and a second-round 73 to hold off Pestun by a stroke.
Three other schools; Rochester, Carnegie Mellon and Gettysburg College, tied the Wolverines with 672 strokes during the two rounds. St. John Fisher College won the team title in a landslide with a score of 638. Following the Cardinals were Franklin & Marshall (651), McDaniel (661), Allegheny (664), Swarthmore (665) and Washington & Jefferson (671).
The Wolverines' Robert Ehrhardt continued to stay consistent with a solid round of 85. He finished tied for 14th (78/85-163). Score cards also turned in by Clayton Bunting with two rounds of 88, Erik Shellenhamer with a best round of 88 and Mike Robinson also with a best round of 88.
Wesley College is set to return to the links on April 15-16 for the Goldey Beacorn Spring Invitational, at Deerfield Golf Club in Newark, Del.
