HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) - The Washingon County sheriff says a Hancock woman found hanging at the county detention center has been declared dead.

Sheriff Douglas W. Mullendore said Sunday that 25-year-old Kristy Dawn Jenkins was declared dead Friday. She was found hanging from a sheet on a bathroom partition on Wednesday. Jenkins was later taken Meritus Medical Center.

Mullendore said that procedures at the detention center are being reviewed following Jenkins' death.

There have been two other hangings at the detention center in the past two years. The sheriff said a 22-year-old man killed himself last year, and a woman survived in 2010.
