DUNDALK, Md. (AP) - Two boys, aged 12 and 13, are being charged with setting a fire that grew to a three-alarm blaze and heavily damaged a Dundalk church.
Baltimore County fire officials said Monday that the boys got into a shed last week behind Pleasant Zion Baptist Church, where they found a lighter and gasoline. One boy poured the gasoline and the other used the lighter to start the fire.
High winds and dry conditions helped spread the flames, which engulfed the church. The fire caused about $400,000 in damage. No injuries were reported.
Both boys are charged with second-degree arson, second-degree burglary, destruction of property and reckless endangerment. Officials say additional charges may be filed against more suspects.
