GRAND LAKE, Colo.– For the third week in a row, the Salisbury University women's lacrosse team sits atop the IWLCA top 20 coaches poll, the organization announced Tuesday. It is the first week that the Sea Gulls are the unanimous choice atop the poll, garnering all 20 first-place votes and 400 points.
The top four remained the same as last week, with a shakeup at No. 5. The State University of New York at Cortland (11-1) sits at No. 2 with 373 points. Behind them is the only other remaining undefeated squad in top 20, Trinity (Conn.) College (11-0) with 363 points. Gettysburg College (12-1) remains at No. 4 with 332 points this week.
Moving back into the top five, at No. 5, is The College of New Jersey (11-3), garnering 302 points.
Falling from the top five, down one spot to No. 6, is Middlebury College (9-1) with 301 points, who slide down after its first loss of the season.
The Capital Athletic Conference is again represented by four of its member institutions in this week's poll. York (Pa.) College (12-3) moves up one spot to No. 11, as did the University of Mary Washington (11-3) up to No. 13. Stevenson University (7-6) remains at No. 19.
After having been on the road for the last five contests, the Sea Gulls return home on Wednesday, hosting CAC and Route 13 rival Wesley College. With a win, Salisbury would claim sole possession of the CAC regular-season crown. Game time is set for 4 p.m., at Sea Gull Stadium.
