MAGNOLIA, Del.- Delaware State Police are looking for a suspect who used a metal pipe to attack an employee during the failed attempted robbery of a liquor store in Magnolia.
Police said that at around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, April 19, a male suspect entered the Beer, Wine, and Liquor Store on West Birdie Lane and demanded money from a 43-year-old male employee.
Troopers said that before the employee could comply with the demands, the suspect pulled out a metal pipe and struck the victim across the face. Another employee witnessed the assault and was able to intervene by grabbing the pipe out of the suspect's hand. The suspect then ran out of the store and was last seen running toward Magnolia on South State Street. The clerk was injured but did not require any medical attention, according to police. The other employee was not injured.
The suspect was described as a black male, 5-foot-8, 180 pounds and with black hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and black pants, and with a black T-shirt wrapped around his head.
