SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University baseball team stayed at No. 3 in Tuesday's American Baseball Coaches Association Division III Poll and fell to No.6 in the D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 Poll.
The 29-7 Sea Gulls went 3-1 this week defeating St. Mary's (Md.) College, York (Pa.) College and Wesley College in the CAC tournament.
The Sea Gulls earned 215 points in the ABCA poll, behind No. 2 Wheaton (Mass.) College with 217 points and top-ranked Marietta College with 230 points. Marietta earned seven first-place votes and the other vote was received by No. 4 University of St. Thomas.
In the D3baseball.com poll, SU garnered 492 points, Wheaton earned 535, Christopher Newport University earned 543, Keystone College acquired 555 points, St. Thomas earned 589, and Marietta gathered 594 total points this week. The first-place votes broke down as such: Marietta with 12, St. Thomas with 10, Keystone with two and Wheaton with one.
Salisbury will host the winner of the Stevenson University and Wesley College CAC semifinal game. The CAC championship is set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
