SALISBURY, Md.- Authorities have announced that the outdoor burning ban in effect for Worcester County since mid-April has been canceled, effective immediately.
"The ban was canceled following sufficient rainfall last week," Worcester County Fire Marshal Jeff McMahon said. "However, the amount of rainfall varied depending upon the area of the county, so I continue to caution residents and visitors against burning."
McMahon stated that a continued dry weather pattern would force the return of the burning ban. Furthermore, all who conduct outdoor burnings, regardless of the type, are reminded that the law requires any fire to be attended from start to extinguishment. Precautions for having the proper tools and safe water supply are also required.
