Suspect Sought in Greenwood Armed Robbery

Updated:

GREENWOOD, Del.- Greenwood police are looking for a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred Monday morning at the intersection of Sussex Highway and Market Street.

Police said that at around 9:30 a.m., the victim was driving on Sussex Highway when a stranger opened the victim's truck passenger-side door and got into the car. Investigators said the man drew a Ruger 9mm black and green pistol, pointed it at the victim and told the victim to drive the car and make a right onto Market Street and continue right onto North Church Street.

Officers said the victim stopped the car at the intersection of North Church Street and Minor Street after numerous attempts by the stranger to break into the victim's safe inside the car. The suspect left the vehicle with $108 and was last seen on East Minor Street toward Railroad Avenue.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s, around 6-foot-tall, 190-200 pounds, short hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red flannel shirt, black shoes, a blue and gray undershirt and he had letters tattooed on his right forearm.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the Greenwood Police Department at (302) 393-4801 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
