Del. Senate Approves Bill on Lobbyist Disclosures

Posted:

DOVER, Del. (AP) - The state Senate has approved a bill expanding disclosure requirements for lobbyists working to influence legislation and regulations in Delaware.

The bill was approved on a 15 to 5 vote Wednesday and now goes to the House.

It requires lobbyists to submit electronic reports to the state Public Integrity Commission identifying each piece of legislation or proposed regulation on which they are working.

The disclosures would have to be made within five business days of direct communication by the lobbyist with a legislator or state official about a bill or regulation.

Lobbyists would not have to identify which lawmakers they're talking to about a particular issue.
