ODESSA, Del.- The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a house fire in Odessa in which one person was found dead.
Investigators said the fire was reported in the 900 block of Bayview Road east of DuPont Parkway shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Odessa firefighters arrived to find flames shooting out of the one-story home. Firefighters discovered one person inside the home. The victim was removed from the scene and taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy that will be conducted Wednesday. The victim's identity has not been released.
The blaze caused an estimated $100,000 in damage to the home. The fire's origin and cause remain under investigation.

Fourteen-year-old Christina Atkins died two years ago. Her family said she was in a locked bathroom at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes giving a urine sample, when she had some sort of a medical emergency. What exactly that emergency was remains a mystery.
