SALISBURY, Md.- Police have arrested a 24-year-old Salisbury woman following allegations that she assaulted an infant early Thursday morning.

Nicolle Sanon, 24, is charged with first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Salisbury police said that at around 1:35 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance that had occurred at a home on the 400 block of Cypress Street.

According to police, Sanon went to the victim's home in regards to an ongoing problem. Authorities said Sanon knocked on the door, and a woman answered the door with a 2-and-a-half-month-old boy in her arms. Police said that Sanon then grabbed the infant by the hair and threw him to the floor of the porch, where he landed on the back of his neck. Police said Sanon then began assaulting the adult victim by punching and biting her, as well as pulling her hair.

Police said Sanon then fled the area, but was located at her home and taken into custody on the aforementioned charges. She is being held in the Wicomico County Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond.

The infant was transported by Salisbury EMS to Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment.
