Cape Henlopen Schools Superintendent Resigning

Posted:

LEWES, Del. (AP) - Cape Henlopen School District's superintendent is leaving his post after one school year.

Kevin Carson told the school board late last week that he would resign before the new year began. It's the third time in as many years that the district has ended a school year with a superintendent on the way out.

Carson's statement alludes to a disagreement with the board. He'll depart July 29.

Carson, who had been superintendent at the Woodbridge School District in Bridgeville, signed a 3-year contract last summer. He replaced interim superintendent David Robinson, who signed a 1-year contract after George Stone departed in 2010 for a job in New York state.

School board member Camilla Conlon says she was surprised by Carson's announcement.
