Maryland ranked eighth and Delaware 10th in the rankings released Tuesday. Washington retained the top spot, followed by Minnesota and Massachusetts.
The league said Maryland ranked third in the Northeast and credited the state for establishing the Cycle Maryland program to promote bicycle commuting and tourism. The bicycling group also credited Delaware for dedicating state funding to bicycle projects and said the partnership between the state and Bike Delaware, a statewide advocacy group, is a model for other states.
