CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (AP) - A 24-year-old Christiansburg woman has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for plotting her husband's killing.
Danielle Vinese McPeak was sentenced Friday for the slaying of James Matthew McPeak. He was found bludgeoned and stabbed in his home in December 2010. She pleaded no contest.
Danielle McPeak was romantically involved with 26-year-old Don Nathan Walker II, a Marine stationed in North Carolina. He faces a murder charge and is scheduled to appear in court next week.
After his arrest, Walker cooperated with authorities. He testified in May that Danielle McPeak told him how to enter McPeak's home, quiet his dog, and hide in the basement.
He knocked McPeak out with a broomstick and stabbed him repeatedly with a hunting knife.
