BETTERTON, Md. (WBOC/AP)– Authorities say they have recovered the body of a boater who jumped into the Chesapeake Bay to go swimming and did not resurface.
Maryland Natural Resources Police identified the man as 21-year-old Brandon M. Greene of Edgewood, Md. A statement from the agency Monday night says Greene's body was taken to the chief medical examiner's office in Baltimore for an autopsy.
Police said that on Sunday afternoon four people were on board a 35-foot power boat when the vessel stopped so the boaters could go swimming. According to authorities Greene jumped feet-first into the water about a half-mile west of Howell Point in Kent County
An extensive search was launched from the air and on the water. Greene's body was recovered Monday night.
