QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY, Md.– Maryland State Police in Queen Anne's County say two people were injured following a weekend crash involving two motorcycles and a deer.

Police said James Dillard, of Newark, Del., was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Route 301 near Pfalzgroff Road on Sunday night when he collided with a deer and lost control of the bike. This reportedly sent the vehicle skidding into a second Harley-Davidson, operated by Richard Osiolek, also of Newark.

Troopers said Osiolek was able to safely pull his motorcycle into the shoulder of the highway. His passenger, Linda Osiolek, suffered a contusion to the shin as a result of the crash.

Dillard was flown by MSP Aviation to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
