SALISBURY, Md. (AP) - Teachers in Wicomico County will get an extra $80,000 to spend on classroom supplies, including everything from crayons to calculators.

The Wicomico County Council has decided to add the money to the board of education's budget. Members of the council say the additional money has to be spent on supplies. That will reduce the burden on teachers who spend hundreds of dollars or more for supplies for their own classrooms.

The board of education's budget for 2013 is expected to be $37 million. The council is expected to hold a final vote on the revised budget Monday.
