Motorcyclist Killed in Frederica Crash

FREDERICA, Del.- Delaware State Police say a 46-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding went off the road and crashed into a tree in Frederica.

Troopers were called to the scene of a motorcycle crash on Andrews Lake Road shortly after 5 a.m., as a passerby reported a motorcycle light off the side of the roadway. Police said an investigation into what happened revealed that Rudy B. Rouse of Milton was operating a 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Andrews Lake Road and approaching a sharp curve to the right. Investigators said Rouse applied his brake prior to the curve and skidded over 150 feet before it left the north edge of the roadway and struck a tree.

Troopers said Rouse, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries he sustained in the crash.
Andrews Lake Road was closed between Robbins Road and McGinnis Pond Road for two and a half hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
The investigation is ongoing and the DSP State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is asking anyone who may have information on this crash to contact Cpl.
