Woman Charged With DUI After Fatal Va. Crash

MANASSAS, Va. (AP) - Prince William County police say a Warrenton woman has been charged in a crash that killed a woman and her dog.

Police say 52-year-old Lori Love Shipe was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after the crash about 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Manassas.

Authorities say Shipe ran a red light while heading north on Dumfries Road in a Lexus SUV, and crashed into a Ford Focus that was attempting to turn left from the Prince William Parkway onto Dumfries Road. The impact sent the Focus into another vehicle that was stopped at a red light.

Police say 57-year-old Judith Ann Meyer of Powhatan, a passenger in the Ford, was killed. A 58-year-old man driving the Ford suffered life-threatening injuries. Authorities say a family dog was also killed.
