OCEAN CITY, Md.- Authorities have ruled as accidental the death of a man whose body was pulled from the Assawoman Bay in Ocean City early last month.
Ocean City police said that the Office of the Chief Examiner of Maryland this week determined that the cause of death for 22-year-old Lance Corey Gaines was accidental drowning.
Police said Gaines, who was visiting Ocean City with his family from upstate New York, was last seen on April 21 at approximately 1 a.m. at The Sandbar on 33rd Street and Coastal Highway.
The U.S. Coast Guard recovered Gaines' body from the Assawoman Bay early Tuesday evening, May 1.
