Milford Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust

MILFORD, Del.- Delaware State Police say a motorcyclist stopped for speeding in Milford ended up being arrested on a variety of drug charges.  

Police said that on Wednesday night, troopers were patrolling the area of SR Route 1 and Truitt Road in Milford when they saw a motorcycle traveling over the posted speed limit. Troopers stopped the Kawasaki motorcycle in the area of SR 1 northbound at Argos Corner Road and made contact with the operator, 36-year-old William S. Robbins

Troopers said Robbins, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs and could not provide any identification, was taken into custody. 

According to police, a backpack in Robbins' possession contained more than 2.7 grams of heroin, eight Clonazepam pills, 5.5 Diazepam pills, 64 syringes and other drug paraphernalia.  A computer inquiry of Robbins' also showed a capias out of Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.

Robbins was taken into custody and charged with possession of heroin, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of drugs, driving while suspended, speeding, expired registration, fictitious registration and no proof of insurance.

He was arraigned and ordered held in the Sussex Correctional Institution on $4,750 secured bond.
