Blue Hens 2012 Season Tickets on Sale

Updated:

NEWARK, Del.— Season tickets went on sale Friday for the 2012 University of Delaware field hockey campaign as the Blue Hens look to continue climbing national rankings.

The Hens advanced to the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament Semifinals in 2011 under coach Rolf van de Kerkhof. The team plans to return seven starters and their top three scorers from last year's squad and add a talented group of newcomers.

Fans will have the chance to watch the fast-paced action of NCAA Division I field hockey as the Blue Hens host nine games at Rullo Stadium and play against nationally-ranked programs such as defending national runner-up University of North Carolina, Boston University, Albany, Northeastern, and Hofstra.

The Blue Hens will be hosting several special promotions this season including Family Fun Fridays where families can watch the Hens play Boston on Aug. 24, North Carolina Sept. 7, Northeastern Oct. 5, and James Madison Oct. 26. Families can purchase a discounted $10 ticket package this season that includes admission for two adults and two youths to one game played on designated Friday evenings. Tickets must be purchased at least 48 hours in advance and can save fans almost 40 percent off the game day price.

Group tickets are also available this season for discounted prices of $3 for groups of 20-49 people and $1 for groups of 50 or more. The University of Delaware is additionally offering a single-game Hens High Five Tunnel Package for $105 which includes 30 games tickets for the group, the opportunity to purchase additional tickets at the discounted rate of $3, recognition of the group with a public address announcement, and a group picture forming the tunnel.

To purchase tickets and learn more about the fun upcoming season, call (302) 831-2257 or visit the UD Season Ticket Office in its new home at the Bob Carpenter Center. Season tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for youth under 18, and $20 for seniors ages 60 and over.
