Traffic Changes Planned for Elks Parade in Easton

EASTON, Md.The Easton Police Department is alerting the public to changes in traffic patterns and parking restrictions during the Samuel T. Hemsley Elks Lodge 974's annual organization day parade being held Sunday, June 24.

The parade will get under way on the west side of town beginning at 3 p.m. in front of Easton Elementary School and ending in the area of Pleasant Alley. The route is as follows:

  • South on Jowite Street and turning left
  • East on Port Street and turning left
  • North on South Washington Street and turning left
  • West on Glenwood Avenue

Police warn that after the parade, the following streets may remain closed and no vehicular traffic will be permitted to travel along the following streets until approximately 11 p.m.:

  • Glenwood Avenue between South Washington Street and Pleasant Alley
  • West Street between Vine Street and Glenwood Avenue
  • Port Street between Clay Street and South Washington Street
  • South Street between South Washington Street and Hanson Street

To ensure a safe environment, parking will not be permitted along the parade route from 1 p.m.-11 p.m. Police encourage all motorists to take alternate routes through Easton and to exercise patience during the day of the parade.
